A good video call frame looks intentional before anyone hears the first word. Strong framing borrows from composition rules used in photography and video interviews. The rule of thirds places important elements along grid lines or intersections rather than the geometric centre, while a small amount of headroom keeps the face readable without wasting the top of the frame.12 For calls, the camera should sit near eye level and keep your face centred in the frame so your presentation looks intentional instead of accidental.3
