USB-C connectivity: checking the connection that reaches the browser

The StreamCam connects exclusively via USB-C, which creates a compatibility gap with desktops and some laptops that have only USB-A ports. Because USB 3.1 Type-C is recommended for 1080p/60fps, adapters and hubs can change what the browser receives. USB 2.0 is limited to 720p/30fps, so a 30fps readout may reflect the connection rather than the camera itself.3

Why a direct Type-C connection matters

Enabling manual focus in Logitech Capture

Open Logitech Capture, select the StreamCam, and navigate to the camera controls panel. Logitech Capture sets Auto Focus to ON by default; turn it off and drag the focus slider to the position that produces sharpness at your normal desk distance.4 The StreamCam holds this position until you adjust it again. Manual focus can remove the hunting artefact, but you need to readjust if your seating distance changes significantly between sessions. Portrait mode: when to use it and what the browser receives

Rotating the StreamCam body 90° switches the sensor to portrait orientation without any software cropping or digital rotation.
