Checking trigger range before judging drift
PowerA describes the Enhanced Wired as having impulse triggers, and the browser should report trigger movement as a button value that can move between 0.0 and 1.0. Press LT and RT slowly and watch the fill bar for each trigger. A smooth fill suggests the trigger is being read as an analog input, while a sudden jump can point to a calibration issue, a profile setting, or a hardware endpoint problem.
When trigger calibration should come first

A button that remains above 0.0 after you let go should be retested with a deliberate full release and in a different browser tab to rule out a transient page-level glitch. If it still reports a persistent non-zero value across multiple attempts, the issue is likely in the physical controller contact or its internal mapping rather than in the tester itself, because the tester is only displaying the raw value that the browser Gamepad API receives from the operating system driver. Press the same button several times in quick succession while closely watching the release value, because a sticky or worn contact often shows an inconsistent return pattern rather than a single constant offset.

Running both the suspect controller and the PowerA reference in the same test session, placed in the same physical position on the same flat surface, removes external variables that are not specific to either controller's internal hardware. If the suspected controller reads 0.08 on a given axis while the PowerA reads only 0.01 in the same session, the drift is clearly localized to the suspected controller. If both controllers read similarly elevated values, the testing environment or a shared signal source is the more likely cause.
