A vacation rental listing photo can reveal more than the visible scene. Hosts on Airbnb and similar platforms typically photograph their own property using a personal phone, often without disabling location services first, so the file can carry GPS coordinates from the device that captured it.1 Unlike a hotel chain with a generic media library, an individual host's listing photos are usually shot on-site, on a personal device, which means the GPS metadata points directly at the property being rented out.1
